SharePoint is designed to allow users to create sites and manage their own content. An issue that occurs with that concept is the lack of understanding when it comes to managing permissions. Permission inheritance, SharePoint Groups, Permission Levels and Permissions are often confusing to the Site Owners and Site Collection Administrators. This confusion leads to permission inheritance issues and users being assigned permissions to content that they should not necessarily be allowed to access. Within this session, we will understand the permissions architecture and how to best assign permissions to users whilst adhering to the guidelines from Microsoft. If you are new to SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint 2016, you will find changes to SharePoint permissions that are important to be understood. This session is valuable to any Site Collection Administrator, Site Owner of SharePoint 2010, 2013, 2016 or SharePoint Online.
